Expect the Unexpected

Monday turned out to be a very eventful day for all of us here at Gueller's Photography.  Mary and Steve planned a surprise day of shopping in Chicago as a Christmas present to the whole staff.  We left Mt. Calvary at 6:15 am and tackled the icy roads to the Milwaukee Amtrack station only to watch our 8 am train pull away from the station as we ran through the station doors.  Our only choice was to wait until the next train at 11 am.  

With nothing to do for 3 hours, we decided to go grab some breakfast at Miss Katie's Diner.  We weren't the only ones getting breakfast at Miss Katie's that morning- so was Fox 6's Real Milwaukee.  As we were laughing about our luck so far that morning, Fox 6's Tony came over and asked if he could talk to us about our Miss Katie's experience.  Adding this to our already crazy day just made us laugh more.

After our great breakfast we finally caught the train and were off to Chicago.  We were about 30 minutes away from Union Station when Mary got a text message from her son Eric saying they needed to come to the hospital, his wife, Joanna, was in labor.  This was the last thing everyone expected because she wasn't due for 3 more weeks.  Our plans changed for a second time!  Steve, Mary and Ryan were off to the hospital and the rest of us went shopping. A few hours later we get the message that Eric and Joanna had their baby, a healthy baby boy, Gram Thomas.  It turned out we couldn't have picked a better day to go to Chicago!

What we thought was going to be a leisurely day of shopping turned into us being on the news and Mary and Steve becoming grandparents.  Mary decided after Monday our new slogan needs to be "Expect the Unexpected".  No arguments there!

In the pages of the November edition of Professional Photographer magazine, you'll find Mary's portrait "Princess Grace."  Mary and Steve have been photographing this little girl since she was born and it is so fun to watch her grow up.  Mary says, "At 3, this little girl lived the the spirit of grace, beauty and wonderful manners, thus the title 'Princess Grace'."  This photograph is part of the PPA Loan Collection, which consists of about 500 photographs chosen by PPA print judges from over 5,000 entries.  Congratulations Mary!

A Beautiful Day for a Wedding

Here are a few images from the Sabel wedding we photographed this month right here in Mt. Calvary.  It was a beautiful fall day (probably one of the last of the year!) and we got some really nice shots. Congratulations Bob and Ashley!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

We recently had the pleasure of working with Cyna and Tierney for a fun outdoor session.  It was very hot and humid but they were troopers and it paid off!  We hope they had as much fun as we did!

Kyle and Kelly's Wedding

Here are a few of our favorite pictures from our most recent wedding. Kyle and Kelly were lots of fun and they (along with their wedding party) were great troopers through the heat and the mosquitos! Everyone was probably pretty itchy the next day (probably even during the ceremony!) but it was worth it. Thank you Kyle and Kelly for a great day and congratulations!

A big shout out to our New Holstein Girls Soccer Team!  They went all the way to state and took the division 3 title!  Congratulations girls, you make us proud!

Hello all, this is Shannon from the Gueller Team. I just wanted to share a fun summer recipe with you today. Have you ever paid over $3 for a "Lemon Ice"? Well I have, because I am addicted to those things. After a while of paying this I realized I could save a lot of money if I just figured out how to make these at home. So I experimented and came up with the following: buy frozen lemonade, when mixing use half the amount of water the can suggests, stir, pour about two cups in a freezer/microwave safe container and freeze. Wait 12 hours, microwave for about 12 seconds, then use a blender or mixer to blend. Scoop into small cups and garnish with a spoon! My kids (and myself) love it and I save a lot of money!

My Beautiful Daughter

Hey all, this is Shannon from the Gueller Team.  I just wanted to share a video with you of my Daughter's 5 year pictures.  She had such a fun time!  Mary let her wear three different tutu's (her favorite) and for the last images Mary brought out a beautiful dress with matching feather wings.  As I was taking her home after the session she told me that she was having her "best winter day ever".

As for myself I am having a really hard time deciding which portraits I like best.  They all capture the different sides of my daughter,  sentimental, goofy, fun, serious......  What's a mom to do!
