Fox Valley Wedding

Ryan, Steve and myself photographed Luke and Amanda's wedding in late October. The day was filled with sunshine, vibrant colors, and happy hearts. Luke is Steve's nephew, the entire family was looking forward to this day of celebration. Amanda has seemed like part of the family since I can't even remember! It was her goal through the entire planning process to not be stressed. I think she pulled it off. We arrived at the Holiday Inn in Oshkosh to photograph Amanda getting ready, she was already full of smiles. As you can see the details of the wedding (red shoes) reflected her vibrant personality. She was to meet Luke at the Paine Art Center for first glance photos, so we were her ride, we laughed all the way to the Paine, the reason... we were driving a Ford pick up truck! Amanda sitting in the passenger seat got a few odd looks from passing motorists! Luke was waiting for her arrival, as handsome as can be. I love to see the excitment on both the bride and grooms face when they first see each other, it's wonderful. Many wonderful photos were created at the Paine Art Center, which is a gorgeous location for wedding photography. The ceremony was very touching, as the two vowed their love to one another. Liberty Hall in Kimberly was the reception site, needless to say everyone in attendence enjoyed the evening. Entertainment was awesome, Luke's Uncle Brad has a band called "Spicy Tie Band" (which was voted the Best Band by the Wisconsin Bride Magazine)" played until the late hours of the evening. Luke and Amanda we wish you love to last a life time! Thanks for letting us be a part of your wedding day.

Julie and Andy's Wedding

September 16, 2011 Julie & Andy's wedding day. A day of much anticipation, not only for Julie, Andy and their families, but also for Gueller's Photography. As the story has it; Julie was hired by Steve when she was 15 years old. She would be a production assistant at our studio. We knew her parents; Marge and Steve, Julie went to school with our son's Mitch & Ryan. She was involved in many activities in school. Steve, her Dad always brought attention to Julie as soon as the dance team was introduced, he would yell her name (quite enduring)! It was their signature! Since Julie was only 15 yrs. old we had to pick her up to bring her to work at times. Describing Julie as having a vibrant personality would be an understatement!! She is never afraid to speak her mind, voice an opinion, sarcasm comes to her naturally, she is full of life, are you getting the picture? In addition to my description above, she is a creative, hard working individual. Julie was a part of our studio all through high school and college, she became part of the family! When she asked us to photograph her wedding, first I said I would need to approve of this guy "Andy" before I said yes!! Andy passed my inspection, so this day was very special for the Gueller family as well.

Julie, a graphic designer by career, is very detailed oriented. I knew from the start she would be telling us what to do! She did not disappoint. Steve and I have been photographing weddings for say somewhere in the line of thirty years... Julie sent me at three page outline of the images we should not forget!! Where, when how, etc... I love it when brides are so organized. All i's were dotted and the t's were crossed. This wedding was going to be on schedule!

Andy wasn't sure about all these "pictures", wasn't it going to take forever? Julie's response... suck it up, it's very important!! YEAH Julie!! Needless to say we had a blast photographing Julie and Andy. I think we may have won Andy over when we photographed his body art (tattoo's) on the fire escape of the Inn where they were staying. It is our goal to make the photography FUN and not dreaded during the day.

Julie was radiant, the bridesmaids gorgeous, the groomsmen shall we say fun, and Andy very handsome. Celebrating their lives and love had so much meaning to us. Thank you Julie and Andy for including us on your special day. Steve, myself, Eric, Mitch and Ryan wish you love, laughter and as much happiness as your hearts can hold. Congratulations!

Paul and Katie's Wedding

The morning started out with overcast skies and rain drizzling from time to time, however this did not dampen the spirits of Paul & Katie. The setting for the wedding was “The Waters” along the shore of Lake Winnebago in Oshkosh, WI. They were determined to have their wedding outdoor near Lake Winnebago as planned. Katie’s smile and enthusiasm out shinned the weather, she was absolutely stunning in her wedding gown. Paul as handsome as he was appeared to be just a little nervous seeing his bride for the first time. We love to photograph the bride and groom in the First Glance, this is when they are photographed together before anyone else, by themselves. We love it because we know the bride and groom will enjoy their time alone on their special day. Talk about perfect venues, with the drizzling rain, we were able to photograph everyone under the roof on the second floor outdoor balcony. We knew it was important to both Paul and Katie to photograph as much as we could near the lake, or to have the lake in the background. Mission accomplished! The Waters offered so many great areas to photograph both indoors and out. The beautiful double staircase was a favorite area for capturing Katie and her parents, as well as Paul and his parents. The drizzle subsided just in time to have the ceremony near the lake. After the ceremony the celebration took to the water with a pontoon ride for the wedding party. The celebration continued with dinner and dancing throughout the night. Ryan, Mary & Chelsea wish Paul and Katie love & laughter for many years to come.

Beautiful flowers, gorgeous dresses, a perfect July day and two people completely in love- that was Allison and Tony's wedding. Needless to say, we had ALOT of fun photographing this wedding. Ryan is good friends with Tony and Allison so he got to play both groomsman and photographer for the day. Allison had a hand is planning every detail of her big day (down to making homemade laterns for the reception!) and it paid off! We got lucky with a gorgeous June day for Chad and Heather's Oshkosh wedding. The outdoor ceremony was held at the Paine Art Center, one of our favorite locations to photograph. Chad and Heather choose to do the First Glance, which is when the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony. This allowed for a lot of relaxed time alone before the ceremony to get beautiful pictures of the two of them together. Chad and Heather were a great couple to work with; very laid back, fun, and completely in love with each other. We wish them a lifetime of happiness, congrats and thank you!

Josh and I have been friends since we were Seniors in high school. We've spent a lot of fun times together. Being a groomsman in his wedding as well as photographing it was a great honor. Emily is so sweet, I'm glad to see her and Josh together as a couple. Their personalities compliment each other- Emily is pursuing a nursing degree and Josh finished his schooling as a firefighter and paramedic. June 11, 2011 we had the great priviledge of photographing the wedding of Kimberly and Brad's wedding. We have photographed Kimberly and her family since she was little. To see her life progress from childhood, adolesence, teenage years, and now to being a young bride has been very special. Every time I see Kimberly, she has a smile on her face, she is always positive, happy and friendly. She is a joy to be around. Brad you have married a wonderful young woman, as I could see the love and admiration you have for Kimberly. It started out as a rainy day in Sheboygan for Adam and Amy's May wedding. It poured through the ceremony and we had to work with umbrellas and buildings to get some photos taken at church afterwards. We crossed our fingers that the rain would stop by the time we got to the reception which was being held at the beautiful golf course The Bull in Sheboygan Falls. It worked and the rain cleared up just in time leaving a gorgeous misty haze in the air. Adam and Amy are an adorable couple, you could just feel the love between them. We have so many great images from this day, it was really hard to pick a few favorites but here they are!...

Heidi and James

We had the pleasure of photographing Heidi and James on their wedding day this past Sunday. Our son Mitch met Heidi (and her twin brother Eric) in First Grade (on the first day of school on the bus) he came home from school and told me he met a white haired girl named Heidi, who had a brother the same exact age as her! The three of them have been good friends ever since. Watching these children grow has been quite interesting!! They all have somewhat of the same personalities... energetic, happy, mischievous, outgoing, etc.

Heidi and James celebrated their wedding in grand style, every detail was well planned. The bridesmaids were beautiful, the groomsmen handsome, the bride and groom radiant!!

The ceremony was very personal, ten attendants on each side stood at the alter with Heidi and James as they professed their love to one another.

The photography started with James and the groomsmen at the Tundra Lodge, then continued at the church as Heidi and the girls arrived. Once the ceremony ended we photographed family, grandparents and the wedding party at the church, then at the park, and finally at Lambeau Field. A wonderful surprise happened to us upon arriving at Lambeau Field... we photographed Heidi and James and their wedding party with the Lombardi Trophy!!! Everyone was ecstatic!! How can you not be a Packer Fan? The wedding party had fun playing around in the Lambeau Atrium, James as the center and Heidi as the quarterback (does this mean Heidi will be in charge)!!

Onto the reception at the Swan Club in DePere, the tables were sparkling with crystals and tiny white lights, the cake was in the shape of a castle. It was truly a wedding fit for a prince and princess. The celebration was well underway. Guest danced into the night and enjoyed every minute of this wonderful day.

It is such a wonderful feeling to photograph friends of our children, whom we have known for so many years. We thank them for allowing us to be a part of their special day.

Imaging Excellence Award presented to Mary Gueller

Mary Gueller has been presented with the Imaging Excellence Award from the Professional Photographers of America. The Imaging Excellence Award is presented in recognition of the recipient's ability to consistently create photographic images of outstanding quality. Mary earned this prestigious award by accumulating 13 Loan Collection images in the International Print Competition after the completion of her PPA Master of Photography degree. Mary Gueller was presented this award at the annual PPA Convention Awards Ceremony on January 18, 2011 by PEC Chairman Chair Dennis Craft, Chairman of the Board and PEC Liaison Ron Nichols, and PEC Liaison Susan Michael.

The Professional Photographers of America, a worldwide association, exists to assist its more than 20,000 members in achieving their professional, artistic and fraternal goals; promote public awareness of the profession; and to advance the making of images in all of its disciplines as an art, a science, and visual recorder of history. Mary was one of only nine photographers to receive this award in 2011.

Expect the Unexpected

Monday turned out to be a very eventful day for all of us here at Gueller's Photography. Mary and Steve planned a surprise day of shopping in Chicago as a Christmas present to the whole staff. We left Mt. Calvary at 6:15 am and tackled the icy roads to the Milwaukee Amtrack station only to watch our 8 am train pull away from the station as we ran through the station doors. Our only choice was to wait until the next train at 11 am.

With nothing to do for 3 hours, we decided to go grab some breakfast at Miss Katie's Diner. We weren't the only ones getting breakfast at Miss Katie's that morning- so was Fox 6's Real Milwaukee. As we were laughing about our luck so far that morning, Fox 6's Tony came over and asked if he could talk to us about our Miss Katie's experience. Adding this to our already crazy day just made us laugh more.

After our great breakfast we finally caught the train and were off to Chicago. We were about 30 minutes away from Union Station when Mary got a text message from her son Eric saying they needed to come to the hospital, his wife, Joanna, was in labor. This was the last thing everyone expected because she wasn't due for 3 more weeks. Our plans changed for a second time! Steve, Mary and Ryan were off to the hospital and the rest of us went shopping. A few hours later we get the message that Eric and Joanna had their baby, a healthy baby boy, Gram Thomas. It turned out we couldn't have picked a better day to go to Chicago!

What we thought was going to be a leisurely day of shopping turned into us being on the news and Mary and Steve becoming grandparents. Mary decided after Monday our new slogan needs to be "Expect the Unexpected". No arguments there!

In the pages of the November edition of Professional Photographer magazine, you'll find Mary's portrait "Princess Grace." Mary and Steve have been photographing this little girl since she was born and it is so fun to watch her grow up. Mary says, "At 3, this little girl lived the the spirit of grace, beauty and wonderful manners, thus the title 'Princess Grace'." This photograph is part of the PPA Loan Collection, which consists of about 500 photographs chosen by PPA print judges from over 5,000 entries. Congratulations Mary!

Kyle and Kelly's Wedding

Hello all, this is Shannon from the Gueller Team. I just wanted to share a fun summer recipe with you today. Have you ever paid over $3 for a "Lemon Ice"? Well I have, because I am addicted to those things. After a while of paying this I realized I could save a lot of money if I just figured out how to make these at home. So I experimented and came up with the following: buy frozen lemonade, when mixing use half the amount of water the can suggests, stir, pour about two cups in a freezer/microwave safe container and freeze. Wait 12 hours, microwave for about 12 seconds, then use a blender or mixer to blend. Scoop into small cups and garnish with a spoon! My kids (and myself) love it and I save a lot of money!

My Beautiful Daughter

Hey all, this is Shannon from the Gueller Team. I just wanted to share a video with you of my Daughter's 5 year pictures. She had such a fun time! Mary let her wear three different tutu's (her favorite) and for the last images Mary brought out a beautiful dress with matching feather wings. As I was taking her home after the session she told me that she was having her "best winter day ever".

As for myself I am having a really hard time deciding which portraits I like best. They all capture the different sides of my daughter, sentimental, goofy, fun, serious...... What's a mom to do!
